I know it’s still too early to start with the holiday talk just yet but I wanted to just mention this quickly so you can save the date if it interests you.
Hazel Tree Interiors will be participating in a fundraising event on November 5 and 6 that benefits the local organization Progress Through Preservation. The Holiday House Tour and Tea will take place in two separate historic homes just down the street from each other in West Akron. The tea will be held at the O’Neil House Bed & Breakfast, and the tour will be held at the home of Sarah Vradenburg, on South Rose Blvd.
Quick side bar here…I LOVE Sarah’s big, old home. It’s one of a handful of historic Akron homes that I have admired from the street for decades, wondering what it looks like inside, wishing I could find out. (Yay for finally finding out!)
Tickets for the tour only are $10 and $20 for the tea and tour. Hours for both days that weekend are 10-3. We have tickets for sale at Hazel Tree, so you can stop in to buy them in advance there or online via PTP’s website. They will also be available at the door both days of the event!
I’ll tell more about the project and how we’re involved over the coming weeks. Until then, you might enjoy reading the public sale record about the land for her home. This priceless book was delivered to Sarah’s front door one day by a previous owner of the home. Here are the pages about the land Sarah’s home now sits on, from 100 years ago. Note that the original owner was a woman…
Happy weekend everyone!
