Over this holiday break, I’ve had a chance to read a lot. (Bliss!) The other day, I picked up this little book my mom gave me on Mother’s Day in 2006. It had a recipe for a happy life that seems to be spot on. In case you need a refresher on the recipe too, here it is.)
Happy 2011! I send you love and peace on this first day of the next year of this crazy little thing called life.
Jon, our daughter Claire and I have had a very relaxing and much needed family vacation to close out this year and ease into the next. (Yay for owning our own business and being able to decide those things!) The peace and quiet of the last week-plus has allowed the space I very deeply needed to relax into and reflect on last year’s happenings. And there were a lot of happenings. So, here I am, all refreshed now and with a soft yet solid plan and outlook on what 2011 will bring.
For me, I am looking forward to a year unlike any I’ve been privy to so far. I am anticipating (and therefore planning on) that 2011 will be a year rich with remarkable experiences, deeper learning and a realization of a sweeter meaning for me, my life, and my life’s work.
I have a much softer heart under this skin than I did at the start of last year. And I’m finding that this is absolutely the key for me. Soften, seek, share, repeat.
While I know that 2011 will, in many ways, be a much calmer year than the last (we don’t plan on opening any more businesses!), I also know that the challenging experiences gained in 2010 will allow me to stretch myself and my business even further this year than even I currently think will be possible. Pretty much, I’m just gonna go ahead and decide to make 2011 a year that keeps bouncing back and forth between me kicking its butt and it kicking mine. I am really looking forward to the next 365 days.
I can’t wait to see what we all come up with this year! What are you planning for your 365 days? Whatever it is, I wish you hope and passion for it. Because, you know…you can pretty much do anything you want as long as you have those two elements in your heart.
Happy New Year! All the best to you and yours in 2011.
