Today's Artist Spotlight is on Jim Holz. Jim uses scrap steel from a tractor parts manufacturer to make his art. He uses 4'x8' sheets of steel that have holes where the tractor parts have been cut out. Normally, this steel would be recycled. Jim has found interesting ways to re-purpose it. He cuts it apart and reassembles the pieces to make tables and clocks. Sometimes he leaves the sheets whole and paints them to use as wall art. He also will cut sheets down to more manageable sizes for wall art as well. He also uses found objects in his work as well, such as large gears and and metal wheels.
